Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 28, 2026Draft for counsel review
This draft privacy policy distinguishes between SceneGate’s current preview behavior and anticipated production behavior. Current public preview pages primarily use demonstration data and local frontend interactions. Forms labeled as previews do not currently send or persist submitted information unless explicitly stated.
1. Scope
This policy describes how SceneGate approaches information today and how it anticipates handling information when backend systems are activated. Where a practice is not yet active, this policy uses forward-looking language.
2. Information You May Provide
When production account and submission features are activated, SceneGate may collect information you choose to provide, such as:
- Name and email
- Organization, artist, or venue profile information
- Location at city/state level
- Media links and tour dates
- Booking inquiries and messages
- Rider and EPK documents and contract-related data
- Account preferences
3. Information Collected Automatically
When production systems are active, SceneGate may collect limited usage and technical data needed to operate and secure the service. The current public preview is not represented as performing production analytics collection.
4. Public Profile Information
Future public profile information may include an artist or venue name, city and state, biography, genres, public media links, public tour dates, EPK content, and technical requirements chosen for public display.
You should not include sensitive personal information in public fields.
5. How Information May Be Used
When active, information may be used to provide and maintain the service, display chosen public profile content, support discovery and communication features, and help protect the integrity and security of the Platform.
6. How Information May Be Shared
SceneGate does not claim to sell personal information. When production features are active, information may be shared as needed to operate the service (for example with infrastructure providers), with other users where you choose to publish it, or where required by law. Final processor relationships will be documented before launch.
7. Third-Party Platforms and External Links
SceneGate may link to or embed services such as YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud, Bandcamp, Apple Music, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and others. Not all integrations are active everywhere.
These third parties have their own privacy policies, and SceneGate does not control their collection practices. Opening or playing external media may communicate information to the relevant provider.
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
SceneGate may use essential storage or cookies when authentication and account features are activated. Any analytics, preference, or non-essential cookie use should be disclosed and configured before production launch.
The current preview is not described as using advertising cookies. SceneGate does not claim to sell personal information, and final cookie behavior will match the production configuration.
9. Data Security
SceneGate intends to use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the service. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
HTTPS/TLS may protect data in transit when properly deployed, and access controls and secure credential handling should be part of the production architecture. This policy will be updated to match the systems actually deployed.
10. Data Retention
Retention periods will depend on the type of information, account status, legal requirements, security needs, and operational necessity. Specific retention schedules should be documented before production launch.
11. Your Choices and Requests
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or information about processing.
Requests may require identity verification, and some information may be retained where legally required. Final rights-request procedures should be reviewed by counsel before launch.
12. Children’s Privacy
SceneGate is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
13. International Users
If you access SceneGate from outside the operating region, you understand that information may be processed where the service and its providers operate. Cross-border handling will be documented before production launch.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the product and its data practices evolve. The "last updated" date reflects the latest version.
15. Contact
Questions about this draft policy can be directed to SceneGate once a production privacy contact is configured.
